Started dusting females to see if I can follow wolfidemia relations on this grid. Finished checking traps by 0930h. Summary of results on WZ - P.californicus - 7 captures P.tuei - 15 " (live) N.fuscipes - 10 " P.bongii - 3 " Perognathus - 1 " S. howbudgei - 1 mortality TOTAL 37 captures Note that capture success on ZC west fence was 55%, primarily because 4 traps were closed (prob by birds). Today was sunny and warm. Everything is really looking green. Reset WZ traps from 16-17feet, and ZC & MC drift fence traps by 1800h. Will be going out early in the am for dyadic encounters Feb 28 0445h - out checking traps on WZ. It's overcast (low fog), upper 30s. Checked only traps likely to have P.c., then conducted 3 dyadic encounters (see app.aest. for details). At 0650h, went back and checked all WZ traps. Forgot to bring bag for handling Perognathus, which prevented me from getting all info on Perognathus. Started checking ZC drift fence traps by 0800, and finished checking MC drift fences by 0415h. Returned to lab to collect tissues from new P.c. from GZW WZ. Summary of results on WZ - P.californicus - 7 captures (live) P.tuei - 22 " N.fuscipes - 14 " (live - dead tag) P.bongii - 1 " Perognathus - 2 " S. howbudgei - 1 " (new-alive!) TOTAL 47 captures (3new)
