Reset RC and MC drift fence traps by 1730. Added 6 more traps to the east fence, totalling 24 traps. Jan 31. 0700h - out checking traps on MC drift fences. Clear, calm, low 40s. Started checking traps on RC drift fences by 0730h. 44% success west fence, 38% on east fence. Started checking WR traps by 0830h. Found #010 & P.e. dead in trap at station 11,9. There was little bait in the trap - a smaller animal (likely Peromyscus) (probably got away with the bait earlier. She weighed only 34g, 2 days ago she was 43.5g! Shut --. Finished by 1000h and returned to lab to prepare #010. Summary of results on WR: P.californicus - 9 captures (mortality) P.truei 16 " W. fascipes 10 " (new) Peromyscus 3 " P.borfilii .2 " TOTAL 48 captures {12 traps closed @ 10%} Today was sunny, hazy, low 70s. Reset WR traps from 1530-1630h. Temp on grid - hi 60, low 39°F. Reset RC & MC drift fence traps by 1715h. Feb 1 0700h - out checking traps on MC drift fences. It's foggy (very thick), low 40s Started checking traps on RC by 0730h - 37% success on west fence and 33% on east fence - Started checking WR traps by 0830. Conducted 2 degrees encounters in the middle of checking traps (see app sect). Finished by 1100h. Clouds - fog lifted this morning, but shus remained overcast.
