Von Behran, Julie 1989 Journal Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Ca. June 19 At 0600h I left the cabin to walk to the MC drift fences. The temp was about 50°F, with no fog. I caught one P. californicus: spp No Wt Age Sex body P. Calif 1206 41 m ♀ ascrotal I caught this male in one of the 40 traps set between the grid and the west fence. At about 0700h I went to the RC drift fences. I finished checking traps at 0830h. I went to the barn and checked all the cages. I took the 3 smears from the females and then went to the lab to look at the slides. From about 1130 - 1230 I worked on the computer. From about 13:30 to 15:30h I helped Daniela move from the Robinson House to the Red House. From 15:30-1730h I worked on the computer. At 1715h I checked the cages in the barn. The juvenile number 0-000 was missing from its knocked over cage. All the other mice were OK and had food and water. From 1730h - 1800h I set the RC drift fences. From about 1800h - 1845h I set the MC fence traps and the 40 traps between the grid and fence. June 20 At about 0620h I went to check the MC drift fences. I also checked the 40 extra traps. These traps were set to look for female P. Calif. number 0100. I caught her in a drift fence trap today (see drift fence data). I didn't catch any.
