RUBBLE, DD 1984 JOURNAL Hastings Reservation, Mendocino Co., Calif. Dec 2 A lot of traps on both grids were closed, presumably by Neotoma. Didn't finish until close to 1100h. Returned to lab to prepare specimens (took telemetry readings during day - see Telemetry data). Today was sunny and warm (mid 70s). The four of us set all traps from 15-1700h. Added 8 Neotoma traps to RC. 2100h - out checking traps on RC. Clear, cold (mid 40s), moon was already set. Removed the radio-collar from # 2017 -- apparently it quit functioning because it was chewed on. Finished by 2300h. Dec 3 0800h - out checking traps on RC. Clear and not quite as cold as yesterday. Removed all remaining radio-collars this run. Started checking traps on Upper Bridge grids by 0915h. Again a lot of traps closed. Finished by 1000h and returned to lab to prepare specimens. All of my help took off this afternoon leaving me to set all the traps from 1430 - 1700h. Today was sunny and warm again. 2100h - out checking traps on RC with Donna O'Daivds. Clear, cool, no moon (just setting). Caught all but 3 tagged Pt. Finished by 2300h Dec 4 0600h - out checking traps on RC with Donna. Clear and cool. Opened up all Shema traps and picked up all Neotoma traps. Checked and picked up all traps on Upper Bridge grids from 0900-1130h. Returned to lab to prepare specimens Cleaned up and finally headed back to Berkeley by 1600h.
