Total of 125 captures (254 traps, 49% success). Thus am - not bad.
Spent the rest of the day working on the computer and beginning to pack.
Today was cooler (low 80s) and clear. Reset all grid WR traps
from 1730-1830h, RC and MC drift fence traps by 1930h. Few.
This evening Patrick and I photographed 2 of the lab animals
with fluorescent powder and collected tissues from them afterwards
(see catalog).
July 30
0540h - put checking traps on MC drift fences. Clear, low 80s. Started
checking traps on RC drift fences by 0630h - again, both fences
above 50% success. Started checking grid WR by 0800h. Once again
a lot of captures, but fewer closed traps this am. Finished by 0930h.
Summary of results on WR - P. californicus 14 captures
P. truei 23 "
N. hispidus 16 "
P. boylii 2 " (new)
Peromyscus 9 " (new)
TOTAL 64 captures
Total of 123 captures this am. Spent the rest of the am into pu-
kelling and collecting tissues from the remaining mice in the
lab colony and cleaning and putting all the cages up.
Today was cooler, again (low 80s). Reset all WR traps from
1730-1830h. Reset RC drift fences and several grid stations (= 12)
to try and catch offspring of #91364 - finished by 1930h. Didn't
reset MC drift fences.
July 31
0615h - out checking traps on RC. Clear and cool (40°F). West of ≤< 50%
between east of > 50%. Started checking traps on WR by 0800h. More
traps closed today and fewer animals captured. Finished by

0930h and returned to lab to label "new" P# (11427) from RC.
