RIBBLE, D.O 1989 Lourens 84 July 11 (Cont) Hastings Reservation, Monbrey Co, Calif. from the "lower bridge" along Finch Creek, running up the arroyo. The pipe from the arroyo spring runs down this canyon. Vegetation is similar to West Riviera - Buckeyes, Laurel, Madrone, Sycamore, Ponderosa oak, Crambrush, etc. We set a transect with 20 stations, 2 traps per station, 15-20m between stations. Stations 1-10 run up the canyon along the bottom and 11-20 run back down canyon 20-40m above the canyon on the south side. II "Finch Creek A" - this transect (10 stations, 15-20m spacing) runs from the lower bridge (st #10) up the creek to about the opening confluence with "Lower Bridge Canyon" above. III "Finch Creek B" - This transect (20 stations, ~10+ m spacing) runs up Finch Creek from ~100m upstream from the Lower Bridge to ~100m from the Hastings Boundary. Involved setting all these traps by 1830h, and used RC and MC drift fence traps by 1930h. July 12. 0100h - out checking traps on MC drift fences - low 60s, clear. Started checking RC drifts by 0645h and finished by 0730h.
