BIBBLE, DO. 1989 Louise 77 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif June 29 Summary of results on MC - P. californicus - 13 captures (cant) P. boydii - 13 " P. tucci - 4 " Psammophis - 2 " N. fusca - 4 " TOTAL - 36 captures Today was sunny and warm (low 90's). In the afternoon, we worked on more habitat on GP10 MC. Finished up rows 8 and 9 - only 2+ left. Post all MC traps from 1145 to 1730h, and the set and baited all Sherman and National traps on GP10 WR from 1745 to 1830h. 2230h - out checking traps on MC. Clean, low 50's. We checked traps primarily for G? Pa to test against lab #1491 (e.g. left other species in traps, didn't check all traps). Set up dyadic enclosure about station 2,5 and put #1491 in one half and G? 1206 in other half. Returned home by 2330h. June 30 - 0440h - out on MC to conduct dyadic encounter. G? 1206 managed to escape during the night - shut !! Probably dug out under edge. Put one radio-collar on #100 (see next) Proceeded to check traps as usual (0500h - sky just beginning to set left). Finished by 0645h and proceeded to GP10 WR to check traps - Lots of animals - mostly Westerns and P. tucci. Put radio-collars on 2 #??. Finished by 0900h and used a new Fe. Set the truck, #1662 ?. Julie returned her 11602 to her capture point in good shape, and we returned to the lab to spin blood and take vag-swabs. Summary of MC results P. californicus - 12 ind captured WE results - 12 P. boydii - 14 captures (lives) 2 (2new) P. tucci - 3 " 17 (4new) Psammophis - 5 (1new) 5 (4new) N. fusca - 5 18 TOTAL: 39 captures TOTAL 54 (10new)
