ZIBBIE, D.O 1989 Journals 75 June 26 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Summary of results on RC - P. californicus P. boydii Perognathus E. megacotis N. fusipes TOTAL 25 (PM) 8 capt 12 18 "(new) 20 5" (used) 1 3 33 captures 26 (AM) 8 capt 1 14 52 June 26 (Cont) Best results yet. Went into town this am for gas and bait. Today was sunny, low 80's. Julie arrived back down this afternoon. We reset all RC traps from 1645 - 1745h, and we set and baited all traps on GRID MC from 18-1900h. Madison Canyon is amazingly dry! - snowberry beginning to lose leaves and buckeyes are all losing their leaves despite they are still in bloom. Fog rolled in before sunset, cooling temps down. 2200h-out checking traps on RC. Mostly clear, low 60's. Not as many mice tonight compared to last night. Finished by 2300h and set up a diadic encounter between lab #1511 & 67 #0400 (see PC app notes). Returned home by 2330h. June 27 0430h-out on GRID RC to conduct a PC diadic encounter (see PC app notes) Still foggy and cool this am (low 60's). Started checking traps on GRID RC around 0530h. Picked up or opened up all traps as we checked. Finished by 0730h, picked up some of the diadic encounter materials and proceeded to check all traps on GRID MC. Reasonable results considering fleecy condition.
