Started checking traps on RC drift places by 065th and on GEIO#OR by 0738th. Julie checked traps and handled all Peromyscus this am. Good results, finished by 1000h and returned to lab to prepare some mortality and take vaginal smears. Today seemed cooler than yesterday, although hygrometers indicated temps were some (mid 80's). Spent the afternoon with Ward Allison - 70 year old man from Pebbly Beach who brought me his supposed Rattus to examine - turned out to be Rattus rattus ! Anyway, he was a neat old man. Worked some on the computer with Julie. Reset WE traps from 17-1800h and RC & MC drift place traps by 6 1900th. 2215h - out checking trapson WE. Clear, calm, low 60's. Desired trap results this PM, mostly M. fuscescens. Finished by 2300h. June 3 0800h - out checking traps on MC drift fences. Clear, calm, upper 50's. Started checking traps on RC by 904th and on GEIO#WE by 0730th - Some fog rolled in this am, cooling things off Mostly Rattus in traps - lots! Finished checking traps by 0945hrs and returned to the lab to take vaginal smears, etc.
