No obvious indication why it was injured. We drug it to the road and loaded it u Mark's truck (Mark drummed it later and discovered one front leg and its head was badly bruised - maybe hit by a car?). And it also went through a section of the east fence. Didn't start checking traps on PC until 0930h. Hurried as fast as possible, picking up or closing all traps as I checked. Finished by 0950h and liked new PC (captured last night) at truck and released him in good shape. Returned to lab. Repaired all drift fences later in the afternoon, and then put the 3 calibrated hygrothermographs on each grid to begin recording temps & humidity. No traps set tonight - a break before the annual disposal trapping session tomorrow. May 21 Slept in bus am until 0800! Both sexes from the lab females and spent the rest of the am preparing for disposal trapping tonight and tomorrow night. Dann Harts and Bill Lidecker arrived first and I got them started setting traps in Madrona Canyon around 1000h. Francis Villablanca, David Good, and Claudia Litke were late and didn't arrive until after 1700h. The four of us set all the traps along the Robertson Creek Drainage as follows
