Clt's currently snowing lightly. Should make it interesting to check traps... Amazing number of captures considering conditions. Finished checking traps by 0830h. Summary of results on MC - P.californicus c (LOM) F(AM) #ind 1 7 8 P.baylil 3 8(2new) 10 P.huei 1 5 5 Perognathus 1 2 2 TOTAL 6 22(2new) 25 total Remained overcast this am, but temperature (upper 30s) slowly melted the snow. Spent the day on the computer. By noon most of the snow in the valley bottoms had melted, but snow was present through the day on ridgetops. Reset all MC traps from 15-1630h. Had to clean out many of the traps. Clt waiting for it to dry out a bit before setting PC drift fence traps, maybe maƱana... 2115h - out checking traps on MC. Crystal clear, no moon, and cold (32o on grid). Better results tonight on the grid. Finished by 2215h- Jan 8 0700h - out checking traps on MC. Clt's clear and cold (upper 20s!). 30o on the grid. The cold temperatures froze the mud making it much easier to get around. Finished by 0930h.
