RUEBB, D.O. 1989 Journal 59 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. May 14 (cont) Today was partly cloudy, breezy, and cool (low 70s). Fog moved in around 1 foot. Reset MC traps from 17-1800h - set 4 Sherman ~15m west of B,4 to try and catch off spring of ?? 0100. Reset RC drift fence traps by 1840h. 2220h - out checking traps on MC. Overcast, upper 40s, drizzling very lightly - Returned with a new juvenile P (#1573) to collect tissues from Mariana, <2330h. May 15 0620h - out checking traps on MC. Overcast (low clouds), upper 40s Picked up all folding Shermans and opened up all non-folding Shermans as I checked traps - Finished by 0830h and proceeded to check traps on RC drift fences. Finished by 0930h and returned to lab to collect tissues from new P's. Summary of MC results: 14 15 16 Perdicines 13(lm) 12 17 P.bayllei 5 10(lm) 1 P.tucci 4 5 5 Peropodius 0 3 3 N.fuscipes 1 2(lm) 3 TOTAL 23-32-39 Returned the new P's to their capture sites in good shape by 1115h. Today was sunny and warm (upper 70s). From 17-1830h I set out and baited all traps on Grz#0 RC. Had to cut back poison oak and black berry along many of the paths. Reset MC drift fence traps by 1400h. 2215h - out checking traps on Grz#0 RC. Clear, calm, low 50s, Moon is <3/4 full, overhead - very bright. Mostly skunks and P captured. Finished by 2330h. May 16 0620h - out checking MC drift fence traps. Clear, calm, upper 40s. Started checking traps on RC grid by 0700h - lots of animals. Finished shortly after 0900h and used 3 new P's at the truck and
