May 13 Returned to lab after 0800h to take vaginal swabs from captured females (boat) Summary of results on MC - P. californicus P. boufii P. tucli Perognathus N. fuscipes TOTAL 12 (pm) 9 4 3 0 0 16 13 (am) 12 7 4 2 2 27 # used 14 9 5 2 2 32 Spent the rest of the morning working on shelters for the hygothermographs. The sun burned the clouds off before noon, and today was sunny, low 60s. Nest all MC traps from 17-1800h and EC drift fence traps by 1830h. Low clouds rolled in around sunset - some parter for past 3 nights 2200h - put checking traps on MC. Clouds show clouds, low 50, moon 9/10 >1/2 full overhead - bright. About same results as previous nights finished by 2315h. May 14 0620h - out checking traps on MC. Foggy, low [illegible] 40s. Finished by 0745h and proceeded to check EC drift fence traps. No problem with closed traps on EC west off this am. Returned to lab around 0900h to take vaginal swabs.
