LIZZIE, D.O. 1984 Journal 5le Hasting Reservation, Monkeny Co., Calif. May 4 (cont) Started checking traps on MC drift fences by 0740h and finished shortly after 0800h. Returned new Ps (all from RC) to lab to collect tissues. Returned them to their capture points in good shape by 0900h. Spent the rest of the am cleaning mouse cases and washing clothes... also collected tissues from captive lab mice. Packed up later in afternoon and headed for Berkeley around 1800h. May 10 Arrived back down at Hastings today around 1500h. It has obviously been raining the past few days - odd weather, but welcome! From 1700-1900h I set and baited all traps on grid MC and MC drift fences. Put out 32 new non-folding Shermans; thus, need only 60 folding Shermans to complete. As I finished it started raining, so decided not to set RC drift fence traps 2230h - out checking traps on MC. Overcast, low 50%, raining off and on. Good results, returned with a new P to blood w/ana, around 2350h. May 11 0625h - out checking traps on MC this am. Overcast, upper 40s, very wet!! Caught 2 more new Ps. Returned to lab by 0900h to collect tissues from new Ps and take vaginal swabs from captive females.
