Went into to town today for paint colors and came back with gray overtones. Unfortunately the results were a purple paint. I painted ~12m of the drift fence east of MC-1 - I want to wait & see what this looks like when dry, but I think it is still to light for my taste (e.g. ugly). 1600 hrs - reset traps on Transect XIII. 1700hrs - located radio-signal of #1079♀ around station 5,13. In the process of looking for her I found ~10 Bay tree fruits that had the seed removed with obvious rodent gnaw marks on the fleshy covering. About 75-60% of the fleshy covering remained behind on each one. Thinking this as a preferred food (see J.Meritt's studies), I removed several from a local tree and set traps with by smearing the juices from the covering on the door and leaving the seed in the back of the trap. I set the stations 5,13; 5,14; & 6,13; plus 4 extra traps in the vicinity at the base of trees, etc. 1800 hrs - reset traps on MC-1 drift fences. 2245 hrs - out checking only traps on JCL-1 set for #1079♀. Did not catch her, but got her signal near 4,14; moving along the creek. Clear & cool (60s) this evening.
