Today was a bit cooler (upper 90's), with a strong breeze (rough) to help 2220 hrs - out checking traps on RCT. Moon is full, clear skies, upper 70's- Finished at 2330 hrs - not much activity tonight, except that I chased a Raccoon (?-yellow eye shine) into the east drift fence. No damage done to the fence except for a dent -- - Oct. 7 0640hrs - out checking traps. It's quite cool (relative to bugs this week), low 70's. The moon is on the western horizon. Roduced # 1079 with Red and # 935 with Green on RC-1. Finished checking all traps by 0815 hrs. Some fog has drifted up lower in the valley - perhaps our heat spell is finally over. Summary of Catches on RC-1: P. californicus : 3 captures P. boylii : 1 " Perognathus : #10 " E. megaphotes : 2 captures (2 new) Noctema : 0 " ------------------------ Total : 12 C captures Very little activity, probably due to very bright's full moon. Spent most of the day washing clothes & cleaning the cabin - Yuppie skipper Today are much cooler, only in the 80's. Rest all traps on RC-1 and MC-1 drift lines from 1630 to 1900 hrs. 22 2220hrs - out checking traps on (grid RC-1 only / not drift fences) - the moon coffee is full but obscured a low level of cloud cover. Foggy in some place. Temp in low 70's. Finished by 2315 hrs. Not much activity tonight. Even though the moon is covered by clouds, it is still very bright. Oct. 8 0640 - out checking traps. It's clear, calm, & cool (low 60's). On grid RC1, #1020 was caught w/ Green Powder on ears & in scrotal position Kestes Finished checking traps by 0845 hrs. Some fog this morning in valley. Summary of results on RC1: P. californicus : 5 captures P. boylii : 2 " Perognathus.. : 7 " (1 new) Microtus : 1 new animal E. megalectis : 1 new animal N. rhesus : 1 capture ------------------------ TOTAL : 17 captures
