July 15 (cont) After about 1 min, #1902 jumped up to the screen separating the zholes and explored around for 3min, then retreated to the small wooden box. #1903 (♀) stayed huddled in the corner under the HO bottle.
Provided both sides of ½ tuna can of "COB" (corn, oats, barley from P.Kelly) and 4-5 ¼ sheets newspaper. On this afternoon cl picked up traps at crossings and set the new-folding Shermans on MC-1 (#1625) and on
DC-1 (8lo). No extra traps are at MC-1 for use on new stations. Began to expand MC-1, only added stations 7, #5; 7, 10; 8, 15. Reset all traps from 1745 to 1945 hrs. 2000hrs – observing animals in captivity.
cl turned third light on & watched for 10mins – neither animal moved.
Removed the boxes from 1902(♂) enclosure, and he reamed around some but stayed principally on the food can. He seemed to avoid the like? Watched him for ~15 min - Tried to arouse the ♀ (1903) but she stood still in the corner. Left by 2045h. The night is moonless, clear, calm.
July 16 Olaish on MC-1 checking traps. It is a bit cooler this morning (mid 50's) than previous; clear skies and =calm.
