Tiny animal. Not biting. White tail tip. Upon release it didn't run away but stayed under Bay tree roots and vocalized with a high pitched squeak. 5-20 min. Finished checking traps by 1300hrs. Packed up and headed back to Berkeley. June 1 Arrived at Hastings at 1300hrs (Daylight Savings Time). Will be here until Official hi=92 the 7-June. Plan on trapping grids RC-1 and MC-1, and probably 10=52 extending these grids. It's clear, slight breeze, mid 80's today. Set traps (2 per station) on MC-1 from 1400 to 1540 hrs. The stream through the grid is dry. Shrub cover dense and very green. Buttery leaves are brown; burned on individual leaf edges Set traps (2 per station) on RC-1 from 1600 to 1700 hrs. Robertson Creek is running at about the same level as always. New growth of blackberry's poison oak amazing: Many former trails and trap stations obscured by new growth. I'm going to wait until the morning to check traps, to get a feel for what is present for possible fluorescence pigment work.
