At 1430hrs I went out to MC-1 to try and locate dusted animals and relocate the 2 nest boxes. First, I dug up where # 790 escaped last night. I found no nest sign, but did find old acorn & tucayge shells. This locality (under rocks) was very cool and damp, probably too much so for a nest. I brmed the nest box under the biggest rock, and filled in the sides with smaller rocks. I also left about 1/4 cup of oats in the box. Next, I dug up some of 1434's escape site - an old Marmota muddan (above 9,12, ~3m). Eventually this lead to a hollow in a buckeye root which I couldnt reach in. The locality was very dry, with lots of dead grass & moss lining passageways. I put a nest box in the middle of the mudden and recovered it with sticks and moss. Finished using MC-1 and transects by 1630 and moved on to RC-1 to reset traps. Finished RC-1 by 1745h.
