Nov. 7. Tonight was clear half calm. The moon (three quarters full) came up about

Nov. 8 0630 hrs - out checking traps. It's cool (40F), clear, with a slight
breeze. Finished checking traps by 0900 hrs. Picked up all folding
Shermans on the grid. Returned and spent the morning cleaning
the folding Sherms. Summary of results: P. californicus : 7 captures
P. boylii : 10 captures (1 new)
Perognathus : 7 captures
R. megalotis : 1 "
S. townsendii : 1 "
M. californicus : 3 " (1 new)

Set traps on MC-1 from 1400 to 1630 hrs. It took longer than
usual because I moved all non-folding Sherms to the
top 2 rows and far east trap stations. Most of the
non-folding Sherms had to be cleaned out. Grass &
forbs are sprouting out and the buckeyes are beginning
to bud out. A lot of smaller (relative to blue's valley oak)
acorns are in the leaf litter. Reset traps on MC-1 drift lines
around 1700 hrs. The moon rose tonight at 2015 hrs (<3/4).
Nov. 9 0630 hrs - out checking traps on MC-1. It's overcast and in the low
50s this morning. 0700 - ducked #1943 (Q lactating) with Ted at
10,12. She escaped to a hill 2m west of station. Finished checking
all traps around 0830. It sprinkled a bit this morning, but the
clouds are beginning to clear. Returned to lab to stuff Sorex mortality.

P. boylii : 2 captures (new)
P. truei : 2 " (2 new)
