Sunday June 23rd 1913 I learned from Mr Millan that "Iliana" had arrived and was lying in the lower harbor. At his request I set about bringing her to the Navy Yard. Obtained Navy tug Palatine and steamed down to Governor's Island. Found Iliana on Jerry Flats, left word aboard to get my steam, returned to N.Y. and obtained Lewis V. Seely as pilot to Navy Yard. Went alongside berth #3 at 6:20 P.M. Moved to #14 and went alongside that berth at 6:35 P.M. Monday June 30th 1913. Put Standard Oil Co. lighter #60 alongside Diana at 6:45 a.m. Commenced loading at once. At 10:00 P.M. U.S.S. Dixie moved out of berth #8 and at 1:40 P.M. Diana taken to the berth by Navy Yard tug (no steam or boilers) Or are't. I caulking required around middle joint no stores could come aboard except the oil forward. Got all stores on deck and other equipment continued to arrive throughout the day.
