Thursday November 20, 1913 Dan and I went up to his father's at the foot of the glacier but found nothing. We had a hard time getting down though the ice got in the dark. We had rather thin for dinner. It was so thing that all were unable to eat it excepting Dan and one who seem to have strange appetite just now than the others. The house seems pretty deserted with Joe and Hal away. The latter is down by Peterwits after walking with two of the men. Friday Nov 21-1913 The moon is about gone and the darkness is closing in. At noon one may see lanterns all about the place. Hal returned today. His hunting was not good and he'd been sick part of the time. He looked badly. Saturday Nov 22 1913 Mac returned in time for beans, and bet-tries. He came in with Benedict and Dan's pal. They had been as far as Kenkams. The sledge work he found bad. Both men broke their horse legs and had to lash them.
