up to the ice - cap today (Oct 27') I have been putting in my spare moments on my tide gage which is to be erected under a snow gloo the men have built so one down on the ice. It is a Standard type made by Krummel & Edser. I am not going to attempt anything elaborate. I have made a stop gage and anchored one end of it. This was not a success because the ice closed up and lifted it clear of the bottom. I'm sledging supplies from the Point. Embickson brought over the biggest load containing 31 cases aggregating 1570 lbs. He had 11 dogs and sat on the sledge himself. Wednesday October 29, 1913. I finished up my sledge last night. After dinner I went over to Pipan's gloo to get a look for my whip. While there I called up for by the phone. The situation was rather interesting.
