This afternoon we took pictures of all of us by the lights of the dying ones. Tuesday Oct. 21 -1913. The high winds and drifting snow made visit work today almost a necessity. I commenced to build my sledge 5-day - It is a little chilly in the workshop and bare metal is unpleasant on the naked hands. Wednesday Oct. 22. 1913. Pankipah and Mark Steele started for the ice-cap today on their way caribou hunting. They returned two days later on account of driving gales. Starkshaw, Arnold and Joe went up to the glacier to visit the troops. They brought back two foxes and one hare. This I must go to the Point and put a lot of our stuff down on the ice. This will be brought over by sledge later on. We had a game of poker tonight but arguments and rules were so violent that the party was not a success.
