282 Sunday Aug 1 1915 Cloudy and calm. The dead at the island spread several hundred yards during the night tho the wind was south. Our beach in front of the house extends along the shore as far as the Point. Other beads and holes assure us that we shall soon see the real Fiord & the good blue water. After breakfast I went out to the camp around Sunrise Point in order to find a place for the ship to anchor in case she arrived before our first trip out. Sea prevented my raising the dory. I returned in time for dinner. From the hill I could see clear water for at least 60 miles south. The big sheet lies running around Sunrise Point. Wednesday August 4, 1915- Rain & snow. Calm +3°.
