Saturday, April 10th 1915 NE wind and clear - 6° Benny came up with Ahningwah - Mac's note said that no meat had been got except 2 deer. The dogs are in terrible shape. Last morning (April 11th) Ahningwah had a relapse from her pneumonia. She had fever 104°, pulse 128 & respiration 50. She was in great pain during the night and I feared that she might die. In 36 hrs. she suddenly became better & now (15th) is up but very weak. Wednesday April 14, 1915 Clear with NE gale dropping to huge later - 2° Today proved to be eventful: Just as we were eating dinner Hal came in after across the field. He was alone having walked from Bethwaadi. I went rabbit hunting & met Mac & got on this way up. 4 Wolves have been killed but the dogs are still in very poor shape. Sipsa's foot well lost (what ails or is it) in the ice & the hunting party failed to recover it again. This is a great loss. When I reached the house I found Asquith, Shea & Dobynah with a letter from Sh. We were over joyed to hear that this party had killed 2 bears + 1 musk ox. He is conservatory by the Hayden Five route & the going is excellent.
