February 16, 1910 Mac returned on Tuesday February 9th He and Etukshne went as far as Cape Seldon in Melville Bay, or a little beyond, to Idletu liksook. I believe Peter & Tush are going as as far as possible.- They are now lost for nearly two weeks in Melville Bay. The Esquimaux are again very sick with the coughing disease. Mac says that he has written home for provisions & equipment. He plans to spend next year in Melville Bay. Eb may stay with him. On Sunday February 16 Eb started down to Peteravik to join the men who are hunting walrus this time. Hal has just come back from that place when he has been with Simpson who has been very sick. Kendallsook died of pneumonia a few weeks ago. Mac has decided not to take the long trip this spring. Etukshne is going with Eb. Jerome put the batteries out of commission before he came in from The Island. He gave them a good acid charge then discharged them with water, charged again and finally dried them. Our women and children are all more or less affected with this coughing and sniff- ling.
