Clear and pleasant with N E wind -12°
The weather remains pleasantly warm and walking is something of a joy now that the moon has come back.
Tank and I are busy getting ready for the entertainment which is to be held on Thanksgiving. We had a dress rehearsal in his room tonight. It's two acts in which we are to perform. T-Tot who is to undergo a fake operation has been shifting the matrons with weird and terrifying descriptions of his coming ordeal. In fact they have shown such sympathy that we are almost afraid that the audience will leave at the appearance of T-Tot on the operating table. Last year when Hal amputated Phibis' wife's toe they all lost their nerve and cleared out.
Tank will be 38 years old tomorrow. Tonight at midnight we woke him up and wished him many happy returns. He decided to come down for something to eat which brought Joe out with a bottle of port wine. We drank his health in real 'licker's.'
It seems very hard to keep straightened out in sleeping at the house here. The water coming every few days means a whole night and part of the following day up. Consequently one must sleep in the daytime and consequently get turned so that there is no real regularity of eating or sleeping.
