152 Tox Saturday October 3d - 1917 [Fourth round] Wind continued perhaps it was a little worse today as the house shook all day long. I walked for two hours this morning and three hours this afternoon. Despite the wind the air is so fresh and crisp that I hate to stay in- dors. A surprising amount of young ice has passed out of the field, it has been going by our island for two days and seems to have finished only this evening. We are enjoying a full moon in the even- ings, our first this fall. Day one first breeze in the midnight sun of the summer one does not notice the moon. Sunday October 4 - 1917 And still it blows. [Fifth round] June and I have both caught a cold from Turkish who arrived sniffling last Wednesday. Since you brought us we set the two boys for a fiction and was astonished to find that the two boys had disappeared. The wind was dangerously high in the flying ship boats. But the tobacco of both men is all gone and they hate illness. I don't have them for getting hemispher in the atmosphere of the quiet pair of books worms that inhabits this place.
