"FOREVER" 145 Monday Sept 21 - 1914 Clear, cold weather mild NE wind. Spot B came out twice bringing food and more material for the ground. This is her last work as the engine is faying and Joe has decided that the time has come for beaching. Tuesday Sept 22 1914 Good weather continues. Jordane mined the engine and batteries. I worked on the bit reel. Got engine up just down the ground. I did not get turned in until just 4:30 AM, studying and writing. Wednesday Sept 22 - 1914 Clear and colden. (Interesting remark!) Ice just has commenced to form. Shot a rummy, he died soon after. Thursday Sept 24 - 1914 Shot another rummy. The tribe is now extirminated.
