FRIDAY 29 MAY 1964 2:00 P.M. A HARD STEADY RAIN, ONE OF THE FIRST WE HAVE HAD SINCE ARRIVING IN NEW GUINEA. TANIS CAUGHT A RATTUS EXULANS IN A DRAINAGE DITCH. MADE IT UP AND UNPINNED MOST OF THE MAMMALS - CARRYING ONLY 1 TRAY. WORKED IN THE TIMBER HOUSE UNTIL DARK SORTING SUPPLIES FOR OUR TRIP TO MINDIT TOMORROW
