510 found it good, but not as much to my taste as the baled meat. Spent some hours on my summer report to President Osborn. It is going to be long for a "summary" report, and I fear that he will not desire a full report! 29 December. Wednesday. Clear, cloudless, calm. Temp. min -26°; 9a.-24°; noon -24° Was almost finishing my report to H.F.O. at 3 p.m. when the cry "Kamatics" came down the forward companionway. Mac Millan had arrived with Borenman via the ice cap from Umnak. Mac was a welcome arrival! He and Green had reached Umnak at 2 p.m. Christmas, expecting to see us all there, but they found no one there at Pete's house except the two small girls and the deaf and dumb boy. Quite a disappointment to them!
