Peter told me that my name a- mong the Eskimos was Naligoksuah, meaning the big master. At first they called me Doctoruak, but they knew only medical doctors up here and they (or he?) changed the term to avoid confusion of ideas. At E- tah they often spoke of me as Naligok- paluak or the little master, though I do not know why they should have called him little.
