The weather has been so mild, compara- tively speaking, that it does seem as if I might have been successful - but circumstances certainly were against my continuing the effort. Our shipward party consisted of: Et on Ahnigmaokto's kamatik drawn by nine dogs and myself on Ahug- nodoblaho's kamatik, drawn by eight dogs. We were not heavily laden, having only my baggage, Et's sleeping bag and a supply of dog meat, but we made rather slow progress, the dogs still being jaded from their hard hike Thursday and Friday as the first supporting party.
