The fact that there were no plovers along the road or along the airstrip where they have been on all prior days leads me to believe more firmly that the flock on the sandflats was a migrating one, one which probably hadn't been here on the island more than a day. Went out to Kuku Point in the afternoon to observe nesting Sooty Terns. They are becoming more abundant, occupying daily more area between VOFTAC and lagoon.
