June 28. Up at 6:00, to
find a dark raining morning.
Breakfast at 7:00, then
repacked & got ready for
an 8:00 pickup by airport
taxi. Took first lot
of gear to lobby & was
told that flight was
delayed by weather conditions
at Barrow. Called wives at
9:15 - 10:15 & finally learned
their departure was scheduled
for 11:30, so we went to
airport. Finally off at
11:45, in Fairchild, with heavy cloud
cover. Got faint glimpse
of Yukon and of tundra
N. of Brooks Range, but no
visibility for photography.
Stopped at Unniat -
apparently a regular stop
