5253 May 19, 1959 On loose talus slopes overlooking south tributary to Alvord Creek in the foothills at the east base of the Steens Mts., 100 miles southeast of Burns, Harney Co., Oregon. Trps. 3 3 S., R. 34 E., S. 33 Elev. about 4500-5000; Talus plant forming mats up to 5 dm. wide, with creeping stems and roots, the smaller plants with a definite taproot. Flowers white.
