Husted, Dayle N. 1964 31 August 9--I got up this morning about 0500 to take Kepler to Hickum field. It was a good thing we were there about 1 1/2 hours early because he was lacking a JFT stamp. After getting some sergeant out of the sack 3 times he got bared and things were all set then. We went to the zoo this afternoon. I saw many birds I had never seen before. This evening I took Warren to the airport to catch the plane back to the mainland August 10--I met Bob Long today. I put up a bunch of plants. The Oriental girls look very good in their tight skirts. August 11--Put up more plants today. Some of them didn't look too hot, but Bob wanted a lot done. Many of the plants were not pressed and very good, but if I had been sea sick like Bob, I doubt that I would have done as good. August 12 --Bob didn't show up this morning. I mounted the rest of the plants he had out. This afternoon I did some running around and got Kepler's bino's ready to send to him. August 13--This morning was spent getting thins ready to go. I left Honolulu at 1740, as usual the plane was 40 minutes late. I arrived in Kona at 2045. Since all the hotels were full because of the fishing tournament I stayed at the airport all night in a chair. It wasn't too bad though, because the boys at the airport were in a good mood. After several snorts of scotch I was in a very good mood. After they left, I listened to geckos and some sea birds, but I couldn't identify it.
