San Francisco Flycasting Club (cont) Ed used deer hair
"humpy" flies exclusively, I shifted from humpies to royal
wulff. I kept four extra-size fish around 10", put the
rest back.
A good many night hawks flying about the river here
as well as kingfishers, spotted sandpipers, Brewer's
blackbirds. Driving home to Eichen in the night
I saw five deer.

Dedication ceremony of the rebuilt water diversion
structure. About 25 people from San Fran. Casting Club
were here - They raised half the money for this job.
Fine steak barbecue at Mon Simon talk in evening
about research at the Station. Dennis Leegarden operated
the Portia klystr.
June 17, 1979
Betty and I had the Leegardens for four-course breakfast.
Three inches of SNOW on the ground, as it kept
snowing off and on during the day. Leegardens and
all other guests left early to get over the pass.
June 18, 1979
Betty and I broke camp and were on our way
home by 10:30 AM.
