Maha, 1960 Journal Dec. 13 a few large flakes of snow falling off or during the day. I spent most of the day in the laboratory, though I did go out & fence in nests 307+308 cubicle are located in the top of the book. That seems to be the only real accomplish- ment. News that a ship was expected in spread through the camp in late morn- ing. I bought 12 christmas cards from Brian & got them ready during the after- noon. Dec 14 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Put out 6 fences in morning. Two were put about nests in penguinery & 4 m shrub. In late afternoon 4-6/17 (113-5) from a round of the shrub. Brought in a pipping egg & hatched out. The day was mild but partly cloudy. Late in the evening it began snowing rather heavily but the wind was still & the snow fell gently. I went to bed without having anchored my fencing adequately. I almost forgot it most Dec 15 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. important event of the day. At 8:15 A.M. a helicopter arrived & a few moments later a second one. The screeble State Island was in our vicinity. But
