a little of Julius Caesar before going to sleep.
The day was warm + still. A little cloudy in
the morning but it cleared off before noon.
Dec. 6 Cape Hallett, Antarctica.
Spent morning (10AM to 1PM) in
skuaery watching at my usual post.
Returned after lunch & made a complete
round of the skuaery. In evening
put up one skua + wrote up my
notes. Day was overcast in morning
+ part of the afternoon. A few flakes of
snow fell about 10AM but it
cleared off. It was warm + still all
day.
Dec. 7. Cape Hallett, Antarctica.
In the morning I put up the last of
my skua skins + processed the
skua of which Donald wanted the
shield & wings. Spent afternoon in
skuaery + checked all penguin skua
next on way out, x on return. In
evening skinned 3 penguin chicks, a
pretty job as I found the skin so
thin as tissue paper + I tore all 3 of
them in the process. About 1/4 a pelt,
"Drum Beef" or something.
