17aley 1960 Journal the other being a 38" record on Nov. 30 Movie "Man without a Star" appropriately misbat. Dec. 3 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Saturday. Another clear sunny day; calm. I made a round of the slevary between 1:30 PM & 4:30 P.M. a complete round this time. Also took a few kodachromes of the birds (Ball #7). I put up 3 snow petals in late afternoon & evening and did up the Sleva notes. 7 Emperor penguins showed up in the morning, & Tom Ballard & I went out & took a few pictures... Dec 4 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Sunday. I wrote up a few notes in the morning & made a round of the nests in the pengiuny. The afternoon was futtered away- party in wandering about the pengiuny, party in reading Sladen's paper & party in Talking. Spent the evening reading. Dec 5 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Monday. Watched by nest 204 for 3 hours in the morning; 10 A.M. (P.M.) & from 2:30 & 4:30 in the afternoon. I then made an abbreviated round of the slevary and was in the base by 6:15 P.M. The evening was spent writing a few notes & reading. Finally finished "Pebble in Arms" - Rest
