Make. 1960 Journal Before lunch. In afternoon Brian & I stopped + landed a few skuae. Wrote notes + read in evening. Nordl Cape Ballast, Antarctica. Left camp about 9 A.M heading for Pivio Becepie. I was traveling with Don Douglaey, Brian Reid & Colin Barby came with jio in order to get so close to the rider petrel cliff- called Tombo Ramparts. We dropped them off 2 miles from the cliff + drove to the moraine at S. end of the glacier, between the 2 cliff areas. Here is a small skuaery & I wanted to obtain a few specimens. Spent 2 hours more, closer to 3, trying to moose some birds. They did not respond But I finally got 2 which we drapatelet with twibne in a plastic bag to see which we slipped over the bird head. Meanwhile Don got 2 other by throwing rocks at them + a) breaking a wing + b) sta stunning one with a blow in the head. We climbed partway up the cliff towards its S. end, the same area we visited last time. No success. We then returned To the N. end + climbed to top of shelf
