Maker 1960 Colours band Pagodroma nivea Nov.21 descended by the back slope, a comparatively gentle one, steep but easy walking. There were many boulders scattered about & we found that the petrels petrels were meeting here also. Found 2 in one burrow which we collected, also saw a number of other burrows. Brian & Colin visited Toulles ramparts also + found similar conditions. i.e many unoccupied burrows + a few birds present. They collected one. Nov.29 Trip to petrelery again, + again to the cliffs called Prior's Precipice locally. (I hope it remains local). Sampling again was along top of cliff on both E & W sides of it + extending for half mile along it. Douglas estimate he inspected 70 nest sites. Estimate I saw 40 or so, a total sample of over a hundred. We found a bird in nests one of which Dr. captured. I scared one bird from its nest + saw another enter a burrow from which I scared it a little later. Colin+ Brian saw no birds at all in nests. Birds were definitely scarce than last time. We saw 4 or 5 in the air total in the entire day. Old dead chicks were found again but
