Papadroma River The cries of many were heard in the radios. Keith had the impression that there were half as many as at the cliffs erected previously but still a fair number of birds. In evening at 11:30 PM, the Radiosonde Balloon was released. Petrels were seen about it following strip. Pam Pougherty says they frequently do this. In about 3-5 minutes watching I saw 1, 2, 15, 1 birds fly over coming from the E- heading across Electro inlet toward the petrelery. Nov. 17 At 11:40 AM 4 or 5 were seen flying E high over station. 12:25 5 more were seen as above 3:40 PM 3 were seen flying E towards Hallett Ridge on one side, a 4th was seen along ridge. This ridge to some 1000 feet high & petrels are seen there along the top with fair frequency. From their age when seen flying this it seems that the birds normally fly at about 1000 feet altitude but occasionally I have seen them come in fog or late evening over the station. A large flight of petrels went on, in the evening, heading W. towards the petrelery. They were first noticed at 6:15 by Peter Martin, flying high.
