Mabey 1960 Pagodroma nivea Nor16times while we were then coming from the cliff face. It looks as if a few pair probably nest there. The limiting factor here seems to be the nature of the rock. This cliff just doesn't offer the numerous nest sites of the criffs across the way. Nor.13. One seen over the base in evening late probably about midnight. Nor.14. Collin Bailey returned from climbing the ridge behind camp and reported numbers of snow petrels about the top of the ciffa. Nor.16 #1659 moulting heavily on head - few contour on breast & back. Filbert Island was visited by a party consisting of Keith, Mary Charles Frame, + Peter Dell. The island is 1 mile long + 3/4 mile wide at widest. It is situated in the S. end of Edisto Inlet. It is cut off from the bay proper by tongues of the Annah and Manbank glaciers which meet on the middle of the inlet. The island is fronted by sea ice on its N & W sides & by the Edisto Glacier on S. & most of E. side. The party visited the N & NW side of island. Only snow petrels were seen, perhaps 10 or 12 all told but Northern run near Filbert Island T.W.
