Catharects macaroni Journal 1/5 Male 1961 Jan.(3) Two pairs had an egg & one pair a very young chick. Before making such conclusions I must add that today (Jan.14) Reid radioed that they had found a shrug & had already counted 120 nests on top of the Cape at Adae. So make I should quit. However it seemed to me at the time that the shrugs were nesting on the billecks below 200-250 meters in sparse numbers. I thought we might have gotten at least 1/4 of two percent or make a 1/3. We covered 1/2 to 2/3 of the cliff not inhabited by penguins. Scanning the cliffs at penguins failed to show any areas at slens dropping. But these might not show from a distance on the rock out crops they picked. Briane recent Camp reports all this however.
