Mahey 1960 Journal Nov. 3 thsere. The day was completely clear + warm. I was able to write with bare hands on the alllacks in absolute comfort. This warm spell - the last 203 days - has started some melting. Bubbles have formed in camp + in low spots in the pengunery. These freeze at night. A beautiful almost full moon one the mouth of the bay. Nov. 4 Hallett Station, Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Spent the morning in the Skuary, stood To the base by 1 PM for lunch. Took a little over 100 feet of movie of Shaw. After lunch walked out 4 section of robery on slope near cape. Took some movie (250'), spent an hour counting penguins coming into the robery. A shour + beer drinking bout in the evening effectively stuffed all work. Day was again clear until late afternoon when a breeze sprang up + at the same time the wind shifted from S. W. A few clouds moved in + sky was broken by late evening. Nov. 5 Hallett Station, Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Spent the entire day in camp. In the morning writing notes + near lunch time
