Maly 1961 Catharacta maccormicki. Jan 7. both then fly 20yd to edge & drink, or seem from under edge, or climb on ice + eat snow. 3:00 One flew back to welcome site next to it. Other sits near ice. 3:05 Chub 235 is fed. 3:15 Mate of 18 arrives. Feeds chick. Bird which has been sitting with the chick gives low alarm calls but comes over & eats, some regurgitated food. 3:20. Two birds away down in first chea, one in lead w food in bill. From 3:07, lands, while other flies off. Mate comes on, challenges then eats part of food. 3:33 U. 349 flutters to mound, challenges queen then in a few minutes flutters down starts walking toward nest. Suddenly flies N. along slope. 3:51 Chub of 38 just fed. 18: One adult arrived, other present. Arrival startled then began to give little alarm calls, soon changed to squeal call? & soon both then into new posture side by side, one finally returned itself & then the other so it was then facing outward at first. They straightened my after 2 minutes ago. One now sits, one pree. 3:58 Unbanded 349 arrives lands
