Cathartes macrourus: Maker 1960 Dec 9 second jules I walked away, neither slowly nor rapidly, just steadily. Cop. caller would call then flutter run 2 feet to catch up, stand & cop. call then repeat. Then moved off and went into shade - call & posture for a minute or so. (Picture!) Then stopped to rest. Other bird was embedded 206, kept walking & sat 23 feet from that nest. 3:00 4a - just arrived, fixed times today. Landed 20 E as usual. I first noticed when heard begging call as wrote above. Due. bird wraps up wacked when giving call "......" ".... "...... this contains introductory note + little notes in series descending + getting more rapid as descended vocalize as à ééiï "......" "......" like so. Fed & banded returns to nest - took 2 pictures not sure if banded was the first one fed in above. I don't think so. Depart 3:10 for lunch. Arrive back 4:00 PM PT 204 or nest gets off & announces. Returns to nest. Mate not present. 230 only incubating bird present 42 Papagayons 20 E P nest. 31 Percent
